About Us
Paradise Kennels was founded in 1977 by Richard B. Lord. Built on a passion and love for animals, Paradise Kennels has been building bonds with customers and their pets for over 40 years.
That tradition continues through his daughter, Ashton Thompson, and the long-term staff that continues to strive for excellence in the pet care industry.
Whether we are bathing, grooming, or keeping your pets while you vacation, they will receive the highest quality of care while here at Paradise Kennels. Our staff loves what they do and creates the welcoming atmosphere that makes your pets feel right at home.
Since birth, Ashton has spent her days growing up here at Paradise Kennels. Even as a small child she had the same passion and love for animals as her father.
Ashton made her start in the pet care industry at a young age as "pet cuddler". She quickly moved up to painting toenails, making bows, and working in the kennels before following in her father's footsteps and becoming a pet groomer. She began grooming as a teenager after school and became a full-time groomer after graduation. Now with a lifetime of experience perfecting her skills, she still spends her days at the grooming table, doing what she loves.
You might get to meet Watson, Lovey, Bruce, Willie, Chappie, Steve, Tony, Zeke, or Bernadette if you visit us here at Paradise Kennels; her pups often accompany her to work, Gray Kitty, prefers to spend his days inside the house.
It has given her great appreciation to have Paradise left in her care, and tremendous pride to carry on the family tradition. With her Husband Donovan by her side, they continue looking towards the future for Paradise, striving to continue to build trust and strong bonds with the pet owners of Augusta, and to stay at the forefront of the pet care industry.

We're excited to announce that Kayli has stepped into the role of General Manager at Paradise Kennels! Her dedication, leadership, and genuine love for the animals in our care make her a perfect fit for this position. Kayli will be overseeing daily operation and supporting our team to ensure we continue to provide exceptional service and compassionate care to every pet and owner we server!

Kelcie is a proud mom of three amazing girls and a lifelong animal lover. She also shares her home with two wonderful dogs—a standard poodle and an Australian kelpie—who keep life fun and full of energy. She has been a professional dog groomer for 10 years and truly loves helping pets look and feel their best. We were blessed to have her join our team and do an amazing job running our Grooming department and helping Kayli run the facility.
